Juan Luis Rod (1987). Diploma in Foreign Language (English) from the University of Seville, University Expert in Applied Photography from the University Miguel Hernández of Elche (Alicante), Professional Photography Course at EFTI (Madrid). Postgraduate in Photojournalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Winner of the International Human Rights Contest 10/12/48 (Women's Rights Award). Selected among the winners of the Contemporarte Contest. He has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions (Italy, Chile, Brazil, Portugal, Niger, Spain...) and has published several photography books with other collectives "Contemporarte 2015" and "Flamantes 2016". He has worked as a photographer for El Periódico and has also published his work in media such as Equal Times, The Guardian, Deutsche Welle, Internazionale, Fox News, The Brussels Times, EL MUNDO, Planeta Futuro, El Salto Diario, and is currently a regular contributor to EL PAÍS. He has worked for NGOs such as Doctors of the World, Agence Français de Développement, Red Cross, Ayuda en Acción, CIC, Alianza por la Solidaridad, Madre Coraje, among others and in different countries such as Uganda, Mozambique, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Gambia, Mauritania, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, among others. He collaborates with agencies such as AFP, Anadolu Images, Getty Images. He is co-founder of the SUMERGEte School of Photography, where he combines his work as coordinator and teacher with his personal projects as an author. He is also co-founder of the collective WE ARE PHOTO.
